• Tesla Coil Kit

This DIY Mini Tesla Coil Kit is one of the most exciting products we’ve ever stocked, and is more than just a lightning-maker, but is also a 15W Plasma Speaker that features a 3.5mm Audio Input – to let you play music or audio samples with the Power of Plasma.

A DIY mini Tesla coil 15W kit is an educational electronic soldering project that runs on 15V–24V DC to produce small electrical arcs, light bulbs wirelessly, and function as a plasma speaker.

What is Included in the Kit
  • PCB (Printed Circuit Board): Clearly labeled with component placements.
  • Coils: A secondary (tall) coil and a primary (thick wire) coil.
  • Semiconductors: Power transistors or MOSFETs (such as TIP41, IRF530, or BD243C).
  • Passive Components: Resistors (typically 2kΩ and 10kΩ) and capacitors (ceramic and electrolytic).
  • Hardware: Heat sinks, power/audio sockets, LEDs, and mounting standoffs.
General Assembly Steps
  1. Solder Small Parts First: Mount and solder the low-profile resistors and ceramic capacitors onto the PCB.
  2. Attach Heat Sinks: Mount the transistors or MOSFETs to their heat sinks before soldering them to the board to prevent overheating damage. [1, 2]
  3. Install Sockets and LEDs: Add the DC power jack, 3.5mm audio jack, and LEDs (paying close attention to LED polarity).
  4. Mount the Coils: Secure the main secondary coil and wrap the primary wire winding (usually 2 to 3 turns) around it or the designated PCB footprint as specified. Ensure enamel insulation is scraped off the wire tips before soldering.
  5. Power On: Connect a matching 15V–24V (around 2A) DC power supply to test the arc and wireless lighting effects
